The following is an official written statement from the Office of the Presiding Bishop of Zion Assembly Church of God, with International Offices in Cleveland, TN. May 1, 2024
Statement by Presiding Bishop: Regarding the Case of Jose Manuel Lozano Regarding the recent accusations of child molestation made against Jose M. Lozano, former pastor of a Zion Assembly congregation in Hesperia CA, we want to inform the public that Zion Assembly is passionately against all such ungodliness and unthinkable sinfulness. Upon hearing the accusations and the investigation by the police, Lozano’s credentials were immediately suspended (March 15, 2024), and he was removed from office and will remain so until he is tried in a court of law (the court date has not yet been set). Then, if the court finds him guilty of such a crime and horrible sin, the church will take appropriate action, namely, to rebuke him openly, revoke his credentials and membership, and bar him forever from pastoral work. If, however, the court's verdict is "not guilty," Brother Lozano's ministry and membership will be restored, though he will not necessarily be reappointed to his former positions. -WHP
