Welcome

Zion Assembly Church of God is a Spirit-filled body of believers who have covenanted themselves together with God to accept and obey the teachings of Christ and His apostles (Exodus 19:3-6; John 14:6, 8, 14; Acts 2:42; Ephesians 5:24-32). This commitment is firm, even in this present time of apostasy, when so many are “falling away” and “[departing] from the faith” (2 Thessalonians 2:1-12; 1 Timothy 4:1-3; 2 Peter 2; 3:1-12; Jude 3-19).

The ministers and members of Zion Assembly have committed themselves to live and worship together in this “most holy faith,” to walk in truth, to “endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace,”and to cultivate among themselves the graces of love and holiness. They seek for the perfections of Christ in their fellowship, and by His grace and power to conform to the image of Jesus Christ so completely that when He appears they shall be like Him (Romans 8:29; Colossians 1:1-17; 1 John 3:2).

Besides this internal disposition to cultivate mutual love and care within the household of God, the ministers and members of Zion Assembly have committed themselves to labor for the unity of all believers, until all “see eye to eye,” “speak the same thing,” and “walk by the same rule” (Isaiah 52:8; 1 Corinthians 1:10; Philippians 3:16). In this manner, they seek to carry forward the apostolic vision: “Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ” (Ephesians 4:13).

Zion Assembly has further obligated itself to publish and to proclaim the full gospel into all the world in obedience to Christ’s commission to the church (Matthew 28:19).

Cleveland, Tennessee

In Recognition of

Bishop E.A. McDonald, Jr

June 15, 1938 - March 7, 2026
Bishop Eustice Austin McDonald Jr., age 87, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, devotion, and service to God and to others. He was born on June 15, 1938, in Darlington, SC. He later graduated from Mauldin High School in Mauldin, South Carolina. From an early age, he developed the strong character, work ethic, and deep faith in Christ that would guide the course of his life.

He began pastoral ministry at the age of 30 and faithfully devoted his life to the work of the Lord. He was a pastor, district overseer, and state secretary in the Church of God of Prophecy over the span of 35 years.

He then provided leadership in Zion Assembly Church of God for 22 years, serving in many capacities, most notably as the World Mission Director. He traveled extensively to countries throughout the Americas, Asia, and Africa. Through this work, he helped train ministers, support the establishment of new churches, and encourage believers around the world.

In addition, he loved to gather with family and friends and sing, using music as a way of worship and connecting with those he loved. These moments of shared song were among the greatest joys of his life and reflected his heart for both God and family.

Those who knew him remembered a man of conviction, humility, and unwavering faith. He was known as a man of prayer who trusted God fully and dedicated his life to serving others and advancing the gospel.

He is preceded in death by his wife Gloria Dean McDonald, his parents Eustice Austin McDonald Sr. and Eula Mae McDonald, his sisters, Nearldine Ford, Marcia Eloise Black, Eufaula Shepard and his granddaughter, Morgan McDonald.
He is survived by his brother, Gerald McDonald, and sisters, Jeanette Surratt and Dartha Harvey. He is also survived by his beloved sons and their wives — Barry and Danette, Kevin and Reena, and Todd and Cheryl — along with eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Though he will be deeply missed, his family and friends find comfort in the example of faith he lived each day. His legacy of service, prayer, and devotion to God will continue through the lives he touched.

Bishop Arlynn Bidge "A.B." White

February 29, 1936 - April 5, 2026
Arlynn Bidge White was born on February 29, 1936, a leap year, on a farm in McMinnville, Tennessee. He passed peacefully into God’s presence at 8:30 a.m. on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, in Vacaville, California.

He was lovingly welcomed into this world by his parents, John and Verna White. He is survived by one sister, Carol Meir, and was preceded in death by his sisters, Louise Patrick and Faye Carter, and his brother, Larry White. He worked on the family farm with his father and grandfather until the age of 16, when the family moved to Painesville, Ohio. There, he met the love of his life, Betty Breedlove. Arlynn and his family moved into a house across the street from Betty, and it was love at first sight. He knew he would marry her—and he did, August 3, 1953.

Arlynn was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, of 60 years. He is survived by his children and their spouses: Debbie (Ed), Rhonda (Vic), Judy (Tim), and his daughter-in-law, Janka, wife of his late son Ron, whom he loved as one of his own daughters. He was a proud grandfather to 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, with another on the way.  Arlynn served in the Army in Texas before returning to Painesville, Ohio, where he joined the local Police Department in 1963. In February 1964, Betty’s sister Barb, who was living in Lompoc, California, persuaded them to move to California. He later became a big rig truck driver to support his family.

In July 1967, Arlynn—who had not attended church since his teenage years—became a Christian while attending a revival in Lompoc, where an evangelist was preaching from Psalm 23. Within a month of recommitting his life to the Lord, he was teaching Sunday school. By December 1967, he was appointed as a church leader and was soon called to preach, beginning his ministry in the Church of God of Prophecy.  He remained in Lompoc until 1972, when he was appointed to Sunnyside Chapel in Fresno, California, where he pastored until 1974. He was then called to El Sobrante, California, where he ministered for 30 years. Many lives were touched and brought into the church through his ministry.

Throughout his life, Arlynn helped plant churches and ministered across the country. He believed the heart of growing a church was ministering to people through prayer, fasting, and love. Many here today—and many across the United States—are a testament to those prayers and faithful years of service.  In 1995, he was appointed Regional Overseer to Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, and South Dakota. He stepped down from this position in 1999 due to Betty’s declining health, and they returned to California. Upon returning, he continued his ministry with Zion Assembly Church of God, serving in California and throughout the Western region.  Arlynn firmly believed that those called by God never truly retire. He felt a deep responsibility to continue guiding others to the Lord whenever the opportunity arose, always offering encouragement to those in need.
